RBH delivers state-of-the-art-medical care. With a professional team of doctors, nurses, paramedics and administrators with high-end facilities and equipment from countries such as Germany and the USA. Furthermore, the hospital has a modern Hospital Information System (HIS), which connects our medical institutions together and allows operations to be almost paperless.
The main attribute of quality comes from the KIMS group. As Royal Bahrain Hospital is the fifth healthcare institution of the KIMS group in the gulf region, patients can expect a high level of quality care and expertise to be provided within RBH.
The first KIMS healthcare venture in the GCC, the KIMS Bahrain Medical Center, was introduced by KIMS in 2004 and has enjoyed much success with local and international patients. KIMS Bahrain Medical Center is a multi-specialty outpatient medical center with diagnostic facilities. This healthcare facility quickly became a successful venture as it was affordable for both Bahrainis and expatriates who needed a competent medical service provider in Bahrain.
After the successful launch of the KIMS Bahrain Medical Center, KIMS Holding Company (KHC) was formed which is now registered in Bahrain as a BSC(c) company. KHC is the investment arm of the KIMS group in the GCC. Through KHC, several investors including KIMS, India, and a number of Bahrainis and other Arabs, have jointly invested to form a chain of healthcare institutions in the GCC countries. Currently the group is operating a 55 bed multi-specialty hospital in Muscat- Sultanate of Oman, and several medium and large medical centers in Al Wakra – Qatar, Jubail and Riyadh – Saudi Arabia and a medical centre in Dubai – UAE.
Dr. M I Sahadulla
Dr. M. I. Sahadulla is a Kerala based Internal Medicine Specialist and a Healthcare Management expert by profession. He was a member of the faculty of General Medicine in the Medical College, Kerala Government, worked in the National Health Services, UK and also had training in the best Medical Centers in the United States. He has 25 years of experience in Saudi Aramco (Arabian American Oil Company) Hospitals in various capacities such as physician, internist and administrator through which he has gained rich experience in American standards of Healthcare, Quality and Accreditation.
Dr. M. I. Sahadulla is the Founder Chairman & Managing Director of KIMS Healthcare Management Limited (KIMS Healthcare Group), a Public Limited Company formed in 1996 with a vision to establish a healthcare institution with a difference, adopting the best of global quality standards. His experience in the healthcare sector ranges over an impressive 40 years, spanning across several countries such as India, UK, Saudi Arabia, USA and other countries of the Middle East.
Today, KIMS is a renowned brand of high quality and cost effective healthcare in India and the GCC countries i.e Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Dubai with 17 projects, comprising of multi–specialty hospitals, Cancer Centre and polyclinics, within the last 14 years. Currently Dr M I Sahadulla is leading a healthcare workforce with 5000 professionals across India and the GCC countries with more than 1000 bed strength. His passion for academics has led him to establish a very strong academic and research department at KIMS, which runs 17 post-doctoral DNB courses, Nursing College, Nursing School and Paramedical Institutions.
Dr. Sahadulla is a recipient of many awards and laurels from various organizations within the country and abroad. Prominent ones include:
• Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Modern Medicare in the year 2006.
• Leadership Award from Trivandrum Management Association in the year 2010.
• Golden Peacock Award for Business Excellence and Quality in the year 2013 & 2014 respectively.
• Recipient of ACHSI Gold Medallion Award 2015, the first Asian to win this award.
• Recipient of Entrepreneur of the year 2015, Tie Kerala.
Dr. Sahadulla is well-known for his keen sense of responsibility to the community and seeing the success and impact of his philanthropic activities, the Anti- Narcotics Council of India (a branch of UN India) bestowed upon him the title and honour of ‘National Ambassador’ for their campaign ‘No-drugs Communities’.
Dr. Sahadulla is an active Member of National Health Review Committee constituted by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) & Indian Healthcare Foundation (IHCF). He is also the President of Association of Advanced Specialty Healthcare Institutions (AASHI), Kerala. He is the founder member of Healthcare Sector Skill Council and also Board Advisor to Hemas Group of Hospitals, Srilanka.
Mr. Ahmed Jawahery
Mr. Ahmed M.A. Jawahery is a Bahraini entrepreneur. He is the Chairman & Chief Executive of Middle East Trading & Engineering Establishment (METEE). METEE was been established by Mr. Ahmed M.A. Jawahery in 1974 and has grown into a major organization specialized in engineering and trading activities. METEE is also associated through a global network of specialized companies provides quality services to the local industries with emphasis on power generation, power transmission and distribution and industrial maintenance.
In July 2004 Mr. Ahmed M.A.Jawahery in partnership with Kerala Instiute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) established a medical center in the Kingdom of Bahrain called Kims Bahrain Medical Center (KBMC). Mr. Jawahery is the Chairman of KBMC and also the President of Royal Bahrain Hospital (RBH), a state-of-the-art, 65-bed hospital in the Kingdom.
He is the partner and Executive Director of American Cultural & Educational Center (ACEC) which has been operational since 2001.
Mr. Jawahery is also the Chairman of World Oil WLL, a company based in the Kingdom of Bahrain and having its branch office in Germany dealing in oil and gas. Other than being a successful businessman, Mr. Jawahery devotes his time to the charity and service organizations. He is the past President of the Rotary Club of Manama.
Mr. Jawahery has received many awards for his voluntary services to the community from the Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and from the District Governor of Rotary International.
Dr. Sheriff Sahadulla
Chief Medical Officer & Executive Director (Medical)
Dr. Sheriff Sahadulla is the Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director – Medical for KIMS Healthcare. Prior to joining KIMS, Dr. Sahadulla was based in Boston and held the position of Regional Medical Director for TEAMHealth, a National Healthcare Management Company.
Dr. Sahadulla has also held the position of Medical Director and President of the Medical Staff, St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua. Dr. Sahadulla obtained his MD from Tufts University in Boston and his Post graduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Sahadulla is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is also a Senior Fellow of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Sahadulla has won several awards including TOP DOCTOR by New Hampshire Magazine in 2011 and 2014. Dr. Sahadulla was awarded the TeamHealth Regional Medical Director/VP of the year award in 2014.
Mr. Jacob Thomas
Group Director - Projects & Operations (GCC)
Mr. Jacob Thomas has served in many key operating roles in his 15 years of expereince in the healthcare sector. Prior to becoming a Director of KMI, he was part of a Bangalore-based Critical Health Systems and Services, a hospital planning and management consultant firm where he spent 5 years in healthcare consulting. Prior to that, he spent 5 years with the Apollo Hospitals Group, as an integral member of their projects and consultancy division and has directly served many of Apollo's strategic clientele.
Mr. Jacob specializes in management consultancy services ranging from infrastructure development, facilities and equipment planning, human resource planning, business transformation, and business development. He is familiar with healthcare delivery systems of various geographies within India as well as of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Middle East, South and South East Asia and, North, East and West Africa. He holds his Master's degree in Hospital Management (MHM) from the Apollo Institute of Hospital Administration, Hyderabad after his graduation in science.
Mr. Jacob is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and has attended several conferences and training programs in healthcare planning and management in India and other countries. In his role as the Group Director - Projects & Operations (GCC), he is instrumental in lending business development, planning, implementation and management support to the various healthcare projects and operating units under the Group in the GCC.
MR. C.H. ABDUL RAHEEM
A Chartered accountant by profession, Mr. Raheem has over 35 years of experience with national and international business houses. His international assignments includes long term association with Saudi Petrochemicals Company (SADAF) Saudi Arabia, a joint venture between Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Shell Oil Company of USA, based in the Jubail Industrial City of Saudi Arabia, from 1983 until 1991 as the head of the finance function. More recently, from 2003 to 2011, he served as the General Manager, Finance and Business Planning of Tasnee Petrochemicals, Jubail Industrial City, the largest private sector petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia. Before moving to Saudi Arabia, he served as the Finance Manager at Galadari Brothers Holding Ltd, one of the leading business conglomerate of UAE, between 1977 and 1983.
He is one of the founder director and member of Board of Directors of KIMS Healthcare Management Ltd. Presently he is its Executive Director at Cochin as well as the Executive Director Finance of KIMS India and the GCC Operation. He is responsible for charting out the financial strategies and growth plan of the KIMS Healthcare Group. He is also member and office bearer of several educational, charitable and social organizations.
The healthcare sector in the GCC region is experiencing a rapid transformation through expansion. Encouraged by this trend, KIMS Global is entering into an exciting new growth phase with a view of increasing our current network and contribution towards the development of the sector.
As a brand, we continue to evolve on the back of our strengths and core values in India and the GCC region. Presently, we have nine hospitals and nine medical centers, bed capacity of more than 1,700 and employee strength of 6000. Our GCC footprint is spread across Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and the UAE, and we aim to move ahead with a firm determination of bringing world-class facilities near to you.
Quality and patient safety come first at KIMS, and this is reflected at all levels. Our hospitals and several of our medical centers are duly accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI), a globally renowned independent authority on quality standards in the healthcare sector.
One more feather in our cap has been added recently when our Royal Bahrain Hospital (RBH) was awarded the Centre for Excellence for Bariatric Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).
In terms of patient communication, we are consistently remodeling ourselves to align with the best of the platforms. New touch points have been developed to ease the information and communication flow and initiatives such as the RBH Patient Portal and Mobile Apps have already raised our service factor.
With KIMS Management Internationale (KMI), we have added one more dimension to our expertise in hospital management, planning and consulting. With over 111 man years of combined experience in the industry, KMI is one of the region’s leading and established full service healthcare consultancy today.

Royal Bahrain Hospital, being a part of KIMS Holding Company, aims to meet the same standards throughout all KIMS institutions. KIMS has become the first hospital in India to get the Australian Council for Health Care Standards International (ACHSI) accreditation. With the completion of the ACHSI process, KIMS has developed and implemented a firm system of patient care based on infection control and safety. It also helped in creating a culture of evidence-based approach to healthcare and data-driven decision-making.
