Known Symptoms

Severe eye pain with redness and irritation
Blurred vision and sensitivity to bright light
Discharge from the eye and tearing
White spot visible on the corneal surface

Known Causes

Bacterial, fungal, viral, or parasitic corneal infection
Poor contact lens hygiene or overuse of lenses
Eye trauma or corneal abrasion allowing pathogen entry
Immunosuppression or preexisting ocular surface diseases

Care

Maintain strict contact lens hygiene and proper handling
Avoid using contaminated water or solutions on the eye
Prompt use of antibiotics, antifungals, or antivirals as prescribed
Seek immediate medical attention if pain, redness, or vision changes occur
