The Pain Management Department at Royal Bahrain Hospital aims at improving the quality of life for patients suffering from chronic and cancer pain. Our Medical Team focuses on holistic approach to control chronic pain and promote the healing process by providing up to date interventional procedures for managing pain and getting to the root of the underlying condition.

The department of Pain Management at Royal Bahrain Hospital aims to improve the quality of life for patients who suffer from acute, chronic as well as cancer pain. Persistent pain can alter a person’s life and can be notably uncomfortable which subsequently affects sleep patterns, social and family life and can be as source of other health problems – both physical and mental. Our goal is to help patients manage their pain and empower them to return to their daily activities.

Our multidisciplinary team of pain experts, which include nurses and therapists, focus on a holistic approach to diagnose the source of pain as well as its management and treatment by providing up to date interventional procedures, therapies and medications as well as getting to the root cause of the underlying condition. All patients are treated differently and receive individualized treatment plans and care. Our healthcare team ensure that all patients are well cared for during their entire treatment process.

Services and Treatments Offered 

The department of Pain Management specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of a very wide spectrum of conditions which include: back pain and failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS), neck and shoulder pain, all types of headaches, arthritis pain, cancer pain and palliative medicine, plantar fasciitis, central and peripheral neuropathic pain, coccydynia (tailbone pain), pain caused by irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and gastrointestinal disorders, myofascial pain syndrome and fibromyalgia, dyspareunia and chronic pelvic pain as well as continuous pain after trauma and sport Injuries.
